Every year on 6 August, Schizophrenia Awareness Association observes Erwadi Human Rights Day to remember the 28 persons with mental illness who lost their lives in the tragic Erwadi fire incident and to reaffirm the rights, dignity, and humane treatment of every person living with mental illness.
